I recently suggested to the ALP, LNP and Greens in federal parliament that Australia should tax these defined benefit schemes more as when retirees are on pensions of $250,000 a year that's excessive and amounts to estate planning. I have suggested for retirees on defined benefit schemes that for the first $100,000 a year we leave it as it is. But for anyone who gets more, then the tax should be 60 cents in the dollar for the next $50,000, 75 cents in the dollar for anything between $150,000 and $200,000 and 90 cents in the dollar for anything over...
