Amid mixed and confusing signals from the belligerents, the United States and Iran, the blockade of the Hormuz Strait was first withdrawn, as announced by US President Donald Trump and Tehran, and then, in less than 24 hours, was re-imposed by Iran over the US blockade of its ports.
