Israel's Parliament has passed a law approving the death penalty for Palestinians convicted of murdering Israelis. The bill's passage on Monday marked the culmination of a years-long push by Israel's far right to escalate punishment for Palestinians convicted of nationalistic offences against Israelis. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in the chamber to vote yes. The law makes death by hanging the default punishment for West Bank Palestinians convicted of nationalistic killings.
