Specialist equipment was sent to the scene A major road leading towards Birmingham Airport was forced to close for hours after flooding. On Saturday evening people travelling to the airport were warned of disruption and advised to check their route. It happened following heavy and persistent rain across the region. Specialist equipment was deployed to the A4545 and diversions were put in place while workers tried to bring the situation under control.
