Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has backed activists to ‘keep campaigning’ for the renaming of Herzog Park in Dublin – despite a new poll saying she is swimming against the tide of public opinion. A motion by Sinn Féin councillor Kourtney Kenny in June 2024 led to the agreement by Dublin City Council to rename the park last month, but this was halted a week later on legal grounds.
