Socialist New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani has appointed Tamika Mallory, an ex-Women’s March organizer who resigned over allegations of antisemitism, to his transition team. Mallory, who has repeatedly advocated for defunding the police and eventually abolishing police altogether, was tapped by Mamdani to help lead his Committee on Public Safety, according to a press release published on Brooklyn community site BRIC.
