Ben Rose discontinued his claim A discrimination case against Manchester council and its former chief executive has been dropped. Ben Rose, a property agent closely associated with the Weis Group, launched civil action against the town hall and Joanne Roney, seeking £30,000 in damages. The claim was for alleged ‘discrimination on racial grounds’ under the Equality Act 2010. On Monday (October 20) Christopher Knight, representing Mr Rose, told Manchester County Court sitting at the Civil Justice Centre that on June 15, 2022, his client received an email from ‘professional acquaintance’ Mark Powell.
