The Bunbury council is feeling the heat after a “woke” policy came under attack at last week’s council meeting. In November last year, the council endorsed amendments to its bushfire inspection and mitigation policy, which introduced a ban on open-air campfires and firepits in the city on any land less than 2024sq at all times of the year. The use of campfires and firepits in the open air was also banned on land greater than 2024sqm from November 1 to May 5.
