Today is International Holocaust Day. Ireland’s National Holocaust Memorial Day, held annually on the closest Sunday to January 27, will be marked tomorrow by a ceremony organised by Holocaust Education Ireland, at Dublin Royal Convention Centre from 4-6pm. Speakers include Irish Holocaust survivors Joe Viselsky, 105, and 81-year-old Suzi Diamond and Caryna Camerino, whose four grandparents survived. President Michael D Higgins will also attend the event which will include readings, survivors’ recollections, the Scroll of Names, candle-lighting and music.
