Liverpool City Council has reiterated no form of racism “will be tolerated in our city”. As part of a speech delivered at the Town Hall for Holocaust Memorial Day, the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, councillor Mary Rasmussen, said the council is committed to working with and supporting all faith and community groups across the area. The pledge comes after Merseyside Police recorded a rise in anti-Semitic hate crimes - the force recorded four incidents in both 2021 and 2022 but last year recorded 20.
