Jewish campaigners have condemned Bradley Cooper’s use of a prosthetic nose to play composer Leonard Bernstein. The actor’s nose is elongated to portray the Jewish conductor and musician in the forthcoming Netflix biopic, Maestro. Cooper, 48, who is not Jewish and who also directed the film, is facing criticism for perpetuating stereotypes, although Bernstein’s children have defended him. A spokesman for the charity Campaign Against Antisemitism said: “It is astonishing that nobody thought twice about sticking a big nose on a non-Jewish actor playing a Jew.
