A year ago, a white supremacist gunman committed a mass shooting at a Tops Friendly Markets on Buffalo’s East Side that left 10 people dead, several more injured, and a community forever changed. The predominantly Black East Side neighborhood lost its only grocery store for two months and a day, once again making the area into a food desert.
