Two armed men arrested in connection with online threats against New York City's Jewish community had a Manhattan synagogue in their sights, a prosecutor said Sunday. Matthew Mahrer, 22; and Christopher Brown, 21, were arraigned Sunday on 11 total charges, including criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, according to the criminal complaints in the case. Brown was also charged with making a criminal threat. Attorneys representing the defendants separately did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
