On Feb. 1, 2020, Britain left the European Union. It wasn’t the first to do so – that honour (or calamitous decision, depending on how you feel about Brexit) went to Greenland. It left what was then called the EEC in 1985. But with all due respect to Greenland, Britain is a much bigger fish, economically and politically.
