The way in which Western political and media elites are describing the current surrender of those now emerging from under the Azovstal steel mills in Mariupol is extremely illuminating. The word used in these two elites for the surrender of those who have largely lived there for weeks with their civilian prisoners is “evacuation”. They describe this capitulation of Nazi-minded thugs as a kind of heroic “Dunkirk-style” rescue of grace for these sadistic pigs.
