VLADIMIR Putin has apologised after Russia's foreign secretary claimed Hitler had "Jewish blood", Israeli authorities have said. Israel PM Naftali Bennett's office said in a statement that he "accepted President Putin's apology for [Sergei] Lavrov's remarks", He also "thanked him for clarifying the president's attitude towards the Jewish people and the memory of the Holocaust". However, the Kremlin has made no reference to an apology in its account of the phone call.
