STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Long Island Holocaust Remembrance Group will host its annual ceremony to remember the Holocaust on Sunday, May 1. The event will take place over Zoom at 7 p.m. The Holocaust remembrance program started many decades ago at Congregation Shaaray Shalom, which is the Jewish Community Center of West Hempstead. The program was then spread across two more synagogues.
