The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum will be holding a Holocaust memorial event on Tuesday night. In partnership with the Jewish Federation of Springfield, the ALPLM brings the “Evening of Remembrance” to the museum free of charge. The Museum’s doors will open at 6pm to give people a chance to go through the newly installed Stories of Survival exhibit. On Tuesday night “A Promise Kept,” a 14 minute film featuring the late Auschwitz survivor Fritzie Fritzshall will premiere. At 7pm there will be a Yom HaShoah commemoration in the Museum’s Union Theatre.
