November 6, 2021 Jerusalem (Reuters) -Israel Foreign Minister Yale Rapid has moved the government away from the US-blacklisted NSO Group this week on suspicion of misusing phone hacking spyware. According to a survey by 17 media organizations released in July, NSO’s Pegasus software targeted the smartphones of journalists, rights activists and government officials in several countries. The company ships its products overseas under license from the Israeli Ministry of Defense. The Pentagon began its own investigation into its practices after software misuse was revealed.
