A new law in Montgomery County, Maryland, quickly sparked three federal lawsuits within a matter of days of being enacted.The law regulates the transfer and sale of ghost guns, or firearms without serial numbers, and prohibits firearms and ammunition within 100 yards of a place of public assembly.The legislation, sponsored by Councilmember Dawn Luedtke, was passed on July 21 in a 10-1 vote. By July 27, County Executive Marc Elrich signed the bill into law.
