Viktor E. Frankl was a psychiatrist, neurologist and Holocaust survivor whose life gave profound meaning to his work on human resilience. Born in Vienna in 1905, Frankl developed an approach to psychotherapy centered on the search for meaning, later known as logotherapy. His ideas were shaped not only by his professional work but also by the unimaginable suffering he endured in Nazi concentration camps during World War II. After surviving, Frankl wrote extensively about how people respond when circumstances become almost impossible to control. His philosophy did not suggest that suffering is desirable or that people should simply accept injustice....
