Deborah Meaden has been accused of sharing “anti-Semitic conspiracy theories” online. The investor on BBC One’s Dragon’s Den, 67, shared posts claiming that Donald Trump, the United States president, was “Israel’s slave” and the US Congress was “owned and operated by the Zionist lobby”. Danny Cohen, the BBC’s former director of television, called the posts “unacceptable” and told the broadcaster to intervene. But the BBC distanced itself from Ms Meaden, saying she was a freelance contributor and “not required to uphold the BBC’s impartiality”.
