Ordinance needs refinement Mount Pleasant Town Council’s newly adopted home size limits in portions of Old Mount Pleasant are an understandable response to a real problem: speculative teardown development altering established neighborhoods. For years, investors have purchased modest homes, demolished them and replaced them with oversized houses built tightly onto small lots. The result is a visible shift in scale and character.
