The discredited former police chief at the centre of the Israeli fan ban scandal is still an honorary representative of the King. Craig Guildford still holds a ceremonial position as a Deputy Lieutenant for the Nottinghamshire Lieutenancy, weeks after retiring from West Midlands Police in disgrace. The role, appointed by the Lord-Lieutenant, is reserved for individuals who have made a “significant contribution” to public life.
