A vote to rename a Dublin park honouring an Israeli president to the “Free Palestine Park” is expected to be shelved after an international backlash. Herzog Park in Rathgar was named in 1995 after Chaim Herzog, the Belfast-born, Dublin-raised sixth president of Israel. His son Isaac is the current president. But an online petition, backed by pro-Palestinian activists and Conor Reddy, a councillor for the People Before Profit party, sought to have it renamed.
