Shameful marches SIR – Despite the terrorist attack on the Manchester synagogue, demonstrations – often with overtly anti-Semitic elements – are still allowed (“Hundreds of protesters held after defying calls to honour Jewish lives”, October 5). Among demonstrators’ shameful slogans is the wish to “globalise the intifada”. That is an open incitement to violence against Jews everywhere. The intent behind it has been clear for some time, hence the sharp rise in anti-Semitism in Britain over the past two years. It is extraordinary that these poisonous marches are allowed to continue.
