I read with interest the editorial “How old is ‘old,’ and when is a president ‘too old’?’” (Dec. 19), referring to presidential candidates. Here, age is the default measure for health, stamina and vitality. Advertisement I will add another perspective: The ability to serve as a leader of the free world rests not on age alone but most importantly on ethics and moral character and on a firm belief in and support for democratic values and laws.
