A real storm broke out after the gesture made by the Bulgarian MEP of the Ecr group Angel Dzhambazki during the plenary session held in the European parliament. Shortly before his colleague Sandro Gozi, an Italian politician formerly undersecretary for European affairs in the Renzi government and the Gentiloni government, could deliver his speech on the rule of law in Poland and Hungary, Dzhambazki raised his right arm forward in what many felt a clear Nazi salute.
