Ensemble WAKS sings on December 5th. in interaction with preserved sounds REGION (red). A special musical project brings that WAKS set am Sunday 5th December, in the Ahlem memorial on the stage. The name of the ensemble is derived from the wax cylinder phonograph, which was the first device for the preservation of sounds. “Wax” means “waks” in Yiddish. Original voices of Yiddish singers from Eastern Europe, recorded from 1928 to 1941, survived like this – forgotten in unknown archives.
